It's Been A Long, Long, Long Time March 15, 2008--Saturday @ 4:50 PM

Almost exactly one year ago today was my last post.

Christ.

So much has happened. I completely forgot about Diaryland. Of course, I'm still online friends with Carly & Kristen. I think that's a definite accomplishment.

Since I last posted, I've been out of two relationships--one of which was last spoken of. We broke up two days after the last post documented on here. Then came Ryan, which lasted for almost ten months.

Now, I like with three other people in a schmancy apartment downtown.

Seriously, if you're even reading this, find me on: MySpace, LiveJournal & on Facebook.

I used to spend my days at home looking for neat movies to watch on TV. [now I hate TV]

I used to watch my favorite movies over & over. [now it's hard for me to even finish watching movies; I started watching a French film Look At Me about a month ago & am still not done]

I used to be able to hang out at my best friend's house all the time, every day. [now I have to schedule in time & when I am there, worry about fitting in etc.]

He & I used to ride bikes to the park & just play for hours while taking photographs. [now I have no time with him, no ability to go to the park without planning it out & no camera]

We used to have alot of fun. [now things are so different]

It will get better. We just have to work for it.

I'll Be Seeing You February 25, 2007--Sunday @ 2:28 PM

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

“I have been very happy with my homes, but homes really are no more than the people who live in them.” [Nancy Reagan]

This...this photograph above. It is of the blue/yellow house that I am soon to live in. When I say soon, I mean within the next week.

Nina & I have been stalking this house for almost two months now. We found it online, looked up the directions & went to visit it. After many times of calling the people who own it, things started seeming hopeless.

Then the other day, we got fed up & started calling them back again. We'd talked to one of the people [there is a woman & her brother who own it] & he said that we could look at it once they got it fixed up [some homeless people had been squatting for a while] Well, that was a month ago.

Yesterday, Nina, Aaron, Shea & I went to see it & Nina called the woman once again as we peek in through the door to see the new wooden floors. She talked to the woman's [Laura] dad & he said that they were glad that someone was interested & that he'd get Laura to call soon.

Hours passed. We sat & obsessed about what we could do with the house. Shed to keep the kitties in [for Greg & Shea's boyfriend Jonny are both allergic] Herb/vegetable garden. Bonfires. Picnics. Parties. Everything.

Five or so hours later, while a bunch of us were at Sonny's BBQ for dinner, Laura called Nina. They talked for an hour outside...Nina didn't even get to eat. As we were paying our tickets, Nina walks up to me, Shea & Tashina [who also wants to live there too] & says: 'Guys, we have a house'

Apparently, the reason no one got back to us [I was the first to call way back in January] was that they were looking for 'the right people' to be interested. The story is that Laura lived here ten years ago & opened up a bar/record shop by the Pensacola News Journal building. She got sick of the city & moved to Austin, Texas; the house has been vacant. But now, she basically wants us to be her best friends & go visit her in Austin. She's totally into DIY stuff & we found out that the reason the house is painted bright blue & yellow is that years ago, African missionaries came here & painted the house [it is custom to, once a year, paint all the houses in the tribe a completely different color than they are, hence the new paint job on the house]

But, the house area is still messy. But she said that we can move in immediately, no security deposit [$550] & no rent for the first month [$550 as well] if we clean it ourselves. Rock.

So that's the story. We're supposed to get the keys in the next couple of days, so if anyone wants to come help up clean up the awesome house, let us know.

Pictures from yesterday:
the house, etc. & downtown with Nina, Aaron, Fr. Nathan & Shea
